THE SURF REPORT
May 2, 2012 | 3:45pm (pics from a.m.)
Good afternoon this is Jenny with your Ocean Surf Shop surf update for Wednesday, May 2nd at 3:30pm.
We’ve got a ton of product in the shop…a new shipment of Volcom bathing suits and ladies apparel just came in, as well as O’Neill and Sanuks for the guys.
Surf at the Washout is running thigh to waist with semi-choppy conditions under a SE wind swell. We have an incoming tide, it’ll be high at 5:25 this evening
Winds are out of the SSE @ 10-15kts.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3 ft @ 8 sec, thats down a bit from this morning’s reading of 3.6ft @ 8sec.
Atlantic high pressure will gradually sink southward late in the week as a trough of low pressure develops inland. A cold front could move into the region on Sunday, then stall near the area into early next week.
Surf looks rideable, definitely something to go get wet in….could be fun!
For your Thursday, expect pretty much the same…waves in the thigh to waist range and semi-bumpy with te SE wind swell slowly fading Thursday afternoon
It’s a perfect beach day out there…It’s 78* and sunny .
Water is warming up, it is in the low 70s.
Sunset is at 8:02pm..last light at 8:30pm
