We have high pressure to our north and a low in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico. The tight pressure gradient between these two systems keeps high-angled north-east wind-swell/ground swell combo in our forecast through the weekend. Hopefully the wind and swell will rotate more easterly late week and blow some swell into Folly, but for now expect thigh to waist high surf with stomach-to-rib high sets in choppy drifty conditions with moderate to strong north-east winds all week long.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will persist over the region through much of the week, before weakening this weekend. Unsettled conditions are possible late weekend into early next week.”
