December 6th Pier

cold and clean

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: ankle to knee
Traffic: none
Parking: plenty
Dangers: holes in booties

Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, December 6th at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at the pier this morning are less than knee high.

Winds are NNE with gusts around 12 knots and surf is slightly textured.

Look for winds to lighten today then switch from the SE at 5 knots this evening.

We are coming off a high tide now. Low tide will be at 1:05 p.m., and high tide will be at 7:02 p.m.  The Edisto buoy is reading 3 ft. at 4.2 seconds in a short period NNE combination.  Small and sideshore surf continues today as high pressure continues to hover over the area.  Look for increasing NE winds up to 25 knots for the weekend while a front moves into the area.  Waves look to pick up late Saturday into Sunday, but expect pretty messy, high-angled NE surf over the weekend and lots of rain.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Friday. A potent storm system will impact the Southeast this weekend, then move off the Mid-Atlantic Coast early next week. High pressure returns next week.”

It’s 39* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 54* and sun today.

Water temperature has dropped to 56*. It’s getting cold out there so come see us for some new neo.

Sunrise was at 7:07 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
