Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, January 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the washout are flat.
Winds are north at 10 to 15 knots. Surf-zone is side-shore, clean and textured.
Look winds to go north-east at 10 to 15 knots today.
We have a high tide at 11:01 a.m., and a low tide at 5:13 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3.9 ft. at 6 seconds in a high angled north wind swell, but swell is headed south, past our beaches.
Waves are still small this morning, and we really don’t expect much real surf for the next few days. A storm system brings unsettled weather for the weekend, pushing up a small east/south-east wind swell for Sunday around noon, but it’s not looking like the surf will build too much, and next week looks flat, too. There’s not much real surf in the forecast for the next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail today before periods of unsettled weather return this weekend as a storm system impacts the area. Drier high pressure will then build in through the middle of next week.”
It’s 35* this morning with a wind chill of 29* and sun. Look for a high of 50* and sun today.
Water temperature is up to around 58*.
Sunrise is around 7:22 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:32 p.m.
