Surf at The Washout this morning is thigh-to-waist with stomach-high sets. It looks kind of fun for the incoming tide. Probably best for a higher volume board.
Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf is clean. Looks best for a high volume board.
Look for winds from the north-east at 5 to 10 knots by late morning, adding bump and some chop to the surf zone.
High tide is at 11:33 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:43 p.m. The next high tide at 11:49 pm.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3 ft at 6 seconds in a short period south-east wind swell.
We should see some decent surf this morning for the high volume board as the tide comes in with waist high surf and clean conditions. Winds go north-east for Tuesday, and surf drops off some with choppy north-east wind swell filling in after a cold front passage. Swell should begin to rotate more on-shore Wednesday, building for Thursday into Friday with a decent shot of semi-choppy south trade-wind swell filling in for late week. Surf looks smaller late day Saturday into Sunday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will push slowly through region today, then south of the area tonight. High pressure will then prevail through late week before another cold front shifts through the region during the weekend. High pressure should then return early next week.”
It’s 64* with rain at the beach this morning. Look for a high of 70* and rain this morning, clouds for afternoon.
Water temperature is around 60*.
With the time change, sunrise is around 7:35 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:23 p.m.
