Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, January 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the washout are flat.
Winds are north/north-west at 10 to 15 knots. Surf-zone is clean and textured.
Look winds to go north winds at 10 to 15 knots today.
We have a high tide at 10:24 a.m., and a low tide at 4:35 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 4.9 ft. at 5 seconds in a high angled north wind swell, but swell is headed south, past our beaches.
Waves are small this morning, and we really don’t expect much real surf for the next few days. A low pressure system is forecast to come out of the Gulf of Mexico Saturday evening, pushing up a small east/south-east wind swell for Sunday, but it’s not looking like the surf will build too much for Sunday, but it might be worth a check.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A dry cold front will move offshore this morning, followed by colder high pressure through Friday. Periods of unsettled weather are expected to develop over the weekend. High pressure will build early next week.”
It’s 41* this morning with sun. Look for a high of 50* and sun today.
Water temperature is up to around 59*.
Sunrise is around 7:22 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:31 p.m.
