Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, November 14 at 8:15 a.m.
We’ll be having out “Schwack” Friday sale starting the day after Thanksgiving, with 25% off Sunglasses, apparel and more, as well as $125 off of any NEW board in the shop, excluding soft-boards (we’ll mark those down as well). Make sure to check it out and save some money on your Christmas gifts.
Waves at the Washout are running knee to thigh high on the outgoing tide this morning in east/north-east wind swell. It looks like there could be a bigger set late morning as the tide starts back in, but overall surf is small and choppy.
We still have strong north/north-east winds at 15 to 18 knots, and surf is choppy and drifty, with current down the beach, north to south.
Expect north winds today at 10 to 20 knots, and surf zone should be drifty and side-shore all day.
We have a low tide at 10:33 a.m., and a high tide will be at 4:44 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 5.9 ft. at 6 in short period north-east wind waves, with a pretty high angle on the swell, so most is rolling past our beaches.
We have more high-angled, north-east wind swell in our forecast today with poor quality waves as north/north-east winds blow at 15 to 20 knots. Surf should average thigh high on the incoming tide this afternoon with side-shore conditions and north winds at 15 to 20 knots. Poor quality north-east wind swell will continue mid-week, dropping some later in the week. We see choppy south-west wind swell average thigh to waist high for your Saturday as south-west winds increase ahead of a cold front, moving through over-night Saturday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through late week. A cold front will pass through the region this weekend. High pressure will then return early next week.”
It’s 51* and cloudy at the beach this morning. Look for cool weather with a high of only 62* and partly cloudy skies.
Water temperature has dropped to 64*.
Sunset is at 5:18 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:48 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
