Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 8:30 a.m.

Lots of Christmas gift ideas are here! Stance socks, Corkcicles, shop tees & hats, and lots more!

Waves at the Washout are thigh to waist high. There is a larger high set, and it is rideable on the longboard or fish/groveller.

Tide is way up in the rocks at the morning’s high tide.

Winds are 5-10 out of the SW, and surf is semi-choppy.

Surf should remain overall semi-choppy and bumpy this afternoon with a south wind at 10 knots and turning to a northerly wind later today.

High tide is at 9:50 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:01 p.m.

Edisto buoy is reading 5.6 ft. at 10 sec. in a mixture of medium period east swell and short period easterly wind swell.

Look for small longboard/fish waves in the water today as a strong cold front approaches and wind comes north this afternoon adding bump to the surf. A series of low pressure systems will move along the frontal boundary just off of our coast mid-week into Thursday, and this should push up some sort of small swell, but nothing too big. It’ll be getting downright cold later in the week, and we see high angled north wind waves and cold air later in the week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will begin to move east of the area today. A strong cold front will move through the region Wednesday. The front will stall just south of the area through late in the week with unsettled weather as waves of low pressure move along the front. Strong, cold high pressure is expected to return next weekend, persisting into early next week.”

It’s 66* with clouds and rain this morning. Look for a high of 70 with 80% chance of rain this afternoon.

Water temperature is back up to 60*.

Sunset is at 5:12 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:07 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
