Good afternoon, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Thursday, April 12 at 3 p.m.

Come in and check out the new Sticky Bumps Punt wax. It’s super sticky, to keep your board stuck to your feet while you are boosting that front-side air reverse. Use it only under parental supervision, because it is tacky in the best sense of the word.

We’ve got east/north-east winds around 5 to 10 knots this afternoon. Surf is bumpy, choppy and weak, with a moderate current running from north to south.

Surf at The Washout is knee high. It is running down the beach in high angled north wind swell.

Tide is going out, and we’ll have a low tide this evening at 7:29.

Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 6 seconds, sending north-wind swell well south of our beaches.

The National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast calls for: ” HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN OVER THE WATERS THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK.

Our wave forecast for Folly is not looking to great for the weekend. Friday and Saturday look flat. Sunday offers knee to thigh high bumpy wind swell. There is a possibility like we’ll begin to see a Bermuda Trade wind swell filtering in Tuesday, with increasing south wind swell Wednesday ahead of a cold front. So let’s keep our fingers crossed on that one.
