Good morning , this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Wednesday, April 25 at 8:45 a.m.
Lots of new O’Neill, Volcom and Rusty clothing and board-shorts in the shop for both men and women, So come by and check out the 2012 lines at Ocean Surf Shop. The water temperature dropped some, so we also have a lot of neoprene tops to ward off this chill. Come on by and get geared up for the late week south wind swell we are expecting.
We have west winds at around 5 knots this morning.
Surf at the Washout is flat. Surf could build to thigh high in south wind swell late in the day.
Tide is incoming, high at 11:08 a.m. Low tide will be at 4:58 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 ft at 6 seconds, but the wind is blowing swell away from our beaches this morning.
The National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “HIGH PRES WILL REMAIN SOUTH OF THE WATERS THROUGH FRIDAY. A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH FROM THE NORTH OVER THE WEEKEND.”
Looking like small surf until again today. Thursday, we should begin to see some south wind swell. Should be waist to stomach with choppy, south wind swell conditions Thursday, building in the afternoon, with strong south west winds. Look for current from north to south. Small south wind swell looks to remain in the rideable range through the weekend.
It’s 61* now under partly cloudy skies. Look for a high of 78 with partly cloudy skies today.
The water temp has taken a hit, it’s back down to around 68*, but should warm back up with these south winds.
