Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, December 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Lots of Christmas gift ideas are here! Stance socks, Corkcicles, shop tees & hats, and lots more!
Waves at the Washout are knee to thigh high. There is a bigger set.
Tide is way up in the rocks at the morning’s high tide, but it looks like a fun little longboard wave with perfect form. I doubt it will last all day, though.
Winds are north/north-west at 10 knots, and surf is clean. Look for north-winds at 10 knots today, and side-shore, semi-glassy surf.
Surf should remain overall semi-clean today.
Low tide will be at 12:33 a.m. high tide will be at 6:38 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 3.3 ft. at 6.7 sec. in a mixture of medium period south-east swell and short period east/north-east wind swell.
There will be some OK longboard –fish, grovler – waves in the water after the tide goes out a little. Right now the tide is up in the rocks. Nothing too big, but a small wave. There is a small pulse of south-easterly trade wind swell and north-east wind swell in the water today, and this continues but fades a bit today. Monday and Tuesday look fairly unproductive for your surf session, but we see “suck up” south-west wind swell ahead of a front during the middle of next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will build into the area today and prevail into Tuesday early next week. A strong cold front will advance through the region Wednesday and then linger along or just off the coast through late in the week. High pressure will return next weekend.”
It’s 57* with clouds this morning. Look for a high of 66 with clouds and a bit of sun, mixed.
Water temperature is back up to 60*.
Sunset is at 5:12 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:02 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.

Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, Nov. 30th at 8:30 a.m.

Lots of Christmas gift ideas are here! Stance socks, Corkcicles, shop tees & hats, and lots more!

Waves at the Washout are waist to stomach high with an occasional chest high set. Moving into low tide, waves are breaking close to shore, but there are some open shoulders to ride.

Winds are NNW at 4 knots, and surf is clean.

Winds are expected to stay less than 10 knots throughout the day today before shifting NNW Friday.

Low tide will be at 10:38 am followed by high tide at 4:45 pm

Edisto buoy is reading 3 ft. at 6 seconds in south/south-easterly swell.

Swell is expected to remain throughout the next couple of days, as there are multiple fronts off the coast of low and high pressure mix, so expect the waves to fluctuate. Wind is expected to chop the surf Friday and into the weekend, however the buoys are reading swell.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front across the central waters will drift S this morning, and then will stall and dissipate by this evening. A high pres ridge will build in behind the front today, then shift E of the area tonight.”

It’s 60* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 71* and a nice beach day with sun and clouds mixed.

Water temperature has dropped to 59*.

Sunset is at 5:12 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:02 a.m.
