Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, February 24 at 7:45 a.m.
The Icebox Open sponsored by Carolina Surf Brand is on for today. Come to the contest shack at The Washout and check out all the action. The Grom’s divisions start at 8 a.m.
Surf at the Washout has potential to be fun again this morning. It’s waist to stomach high in south-east ground swell, and it looks like we’ll have bigger sets as the day wears on.
It is drained out at the morning’s low tide. It should get a better as the tide rolls in mid-morning.
Winds are south-west at 5 knots, and there is a bit of bump in the surf. But, it’s oveall pretty clean, early this morning.
We see south winds today at 5 to 10 knots, and some bump in the surf today, but not too much chop.
We have a low tide at 8:28 a.m., and next high tide will be at 2:29 p.m. The next low tide is at 8:41 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 5 ft. at 10 seconds in longer-period south-east ground swell.
We have south-east swell at the buoy and the surf today in the waist to stomach high range with plus sets. Look for winds from the south at 5-10 knots this afternoon adding some bump and chop to the ground-swell. High pressure is set over the Western Atlantic and sending in trade-wind swell through the weekend with warm weather. South-west winds pick up for Sunday, and this will chop up continued south ground swell for Sunday. This cleans up some for Monday before a cold front passage on Monday night.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Unseasonably warm high pressure will prevail into tonight. A cold front will approach the region late Sunday, then move through Monday night. High pressure is then expected until a warm front moves through Wednesday or Wednesday night, followed by another cold front late next week.”
It is 64* with sun this morning. We have beautiful Icebox Open conditions. We expect a high of 74* and partly cloudy skies.
Water temperature is right around 62*.

Look for winds from the south at 5-10 knots this afternoon adding some bump and chop to the ground-swell. High pressure is set over the Western Atlantic and sending in trade-wind swell through the weekend with warm weather. South-west winds pick up for Sunday, and this will chop up continued south ground swell for Sunday. This cleans up some for Monday before a cold front passage on Monday night.

Surf at the Washout is thigh to waist to stomach high with a bigger set in south-east ground swell.
It is drained out at the morning’s low tide. It should get a better as the tide rolls in mid-morning.
Winds are north/north-east at 5 knots, and surf is clean.

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, February 21 at 8:30 a.m.

The Icebox Open sponsored by Carolina Surf Brand WILL take place this weekend. Looks like some southerly swell will be in the water. ICEBOX OPEN IS ON FOR THIS WEEKEND!       

Surf at the Washout is thigh to wasit high with a stomach high set at the morning’s high tide.  

It looks pretty darn fun!

The surf does look a little mushy but there’s definitely some lines.

Winds are SSE at 5 knots, and surf is clean.

We see moderate south-easterly winds today, and surf should be a bit bumpy this afternoon, but not too bad.

High tide will be at 11:24 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:40 p.m.
