
Good Morning. This is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, July 31 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at The Washout are knee to thigh high with a waist high set in high angled north-east wind swell. It is closing out at the morning’s low tide.
Winds are north at 10 knots, and surf is semi-clean with some side-shore drift down the beach.
We expect north-east winds today at 10 to 15 with higher gusts and semi-choppy surf all day.
We have a low tide this morning, high tide will be at 3:23 p.m. The next low tide at 9:29 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 6.2 ft. at 7 seconds is short period east/north-east wind swell with a pretty high angle on it.
We have high angled, semi-clean north-east wind swell in the water this morning averaging thigh to waist high with a bigger set as the tide comes in mid-morning. Tropical storm Emily formed in the Gulf of Mexico overnight, and should cross Central Florida and enhance and east/north-east swell through mid-week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Dry high pressure will prevail early this week as a stationary front remains far to the south. Tropical Storm Emily will move across central Florida today, then pass well offshore by mid week. A cold front will approach the region this weekend. It is 70* and absolutely beautiful at the beach. Look for sun with passing clouds and a high of 84*. It’s the nicest weather we have had since June.

Waves at The Washout are knee high with a thigh high set in building, short period north/north-east wind swell.
Winds are north at 15 to 18, and surf is side-shore and semi-choppy with drift down the beach.
We expect north-east winds today at 10 to 15 with higher gusts.
We are just coming off a low tide this morning, and high tide will be at 2:32 p.m. The low tide will be at 8:33 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 ft. at 5 seconds is short period north wind swell with a pretty high angle on it.
Surf should be pretty small today in high angled north-east wind swell averaging knee to thigh high. High angled north-east wind swell should build overnight into the thigh-to-waist high range in drifty, choppy conditions. North-east wind swell continues through the first part of the work week, dropping some by mid-week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will build into the area from the northwest today and persist into the first half of the week before moving offshore. A stationary front to the south Wednesday and Thursday will dissipate Friday, before a cold front approaches from the northwest next weekend.”
It is 71* and absolutely beautiful at the beach. Look for sun with passing clouds and a high of 82*. It’s the nicest weather we have had since June.

Good Morning. This is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, July 28 at 8:00 a.m.
Waves at The Washout are ankle to knee high.
Winds are light at 5 to 10 knots out of the SSW, and surf is mostly clean.
Looks like it’ll be fun on a longboard as the tide comes in this morning.
High tide will be at 12:49 p.m. followed by low tide at 6:44 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 3.5 ft. at 4 seconds in small, south-easterly swell.
Wind should stay fairly light out of the SW today. Keep a look out for some light showers and thunderstorms throughout the day which could make things glassy. Waves on the incoming tide should remain fun today. Look for waves tomorrow morning as winds remain offshore for a couple of hours early before switching back to SW with thunderstorms likely.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will approach the area Saturday, then move through Saturday night. High pressure will then build into the area from the northwest and persist for the first half of next week.”
It is 80* and slightly cloudy this morning. Expect a high of 89* with sunny skies and a 35% chance of rain/thunderstorms today.
