Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, August 5 at 8:30 a.m.

New Pyzel’s just arrived as well as Solid and some new Orion longboards and some shorties.

Waves at Folly this morning are ankle to knee-high and fairly weak. Look for a weak, slightly choppy thigh set as the tide comes in, but overall pretty small today. Other than that it’s nice out here.

Winds are southeast at 6 knots, and surf zone is fairly clean this morning as winds are light after a morning rain shower.

Look for winds to continue southeast at 5-10 knots today, and surf will remain small with a slight bump on it today.

Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 2:11 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:33 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period south-east swell with a short period south swell component mixed in. Not much at the buoy.

Waves this morning running in the ankle to knee-high range with a bigger set here and there. It’s fairly clean for the morning, but expect a little bump as winds slightly increase out of the southeast. With high pressure set up over our marine area for the next five days, your surf forecast is looking fairly small. Still keeping an eye on the tropics, but not showing any hope 10 days out.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail in the Atlantic this week with occasional surface troughing across the region.”

It’s 82* with sunshine this morning. Look for a high of 86* with sun and passing clouds this afternoon.

Water Temperature is about as hot as it gets. It’s around 86*.

Sunrise is at 6:35 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:15 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
