Good morning friends, this is Luke Da Kook with your surf report & forecast Monday, June 223 coming to you from the Pier.

Kinda Clean. Semi-choppy this afternoon

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee.
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Surf is on the down side, still a knee high glassy slapper early this morning. Get on it before the winds pick back up.

Winds are light and variable early, then picking up from the SW around 10-15mph

We have an upcoming low tide at 12:39p.m. The next high tide will be at 7:08pm

The Edisto buoy is currently reading 2.0 ft at 8 seconds in a medium swell period coming out of the southeast.

Surf is generally down, although knee high glassy peelers have been available on those early A.M.s High pressure sits over our marine area for the foreseeable future. This will keep our surf down. Some unsettled weather moves into our area mid-late week might see a slight uptick. An area for tropical development sits NE of Bermuda starting to spin but that is North of our swell window and doesn’t look like it will be much of a swell producer for much of the east coast. We need some swell!

Our friends at NOAA predict that a: “A stationary front will dissipate north of the area through the weekend. Strong high pressure will set up across the southeast and remain in place through next week.”

Water temperature is about 78*… sheesh

It’s going to be a beautiful but hot day on the island. It’s currently 81* and today’s high will be 85*

Sunrise was at 6:13am and the sunset will be at 8:31pm.

Thanks for tuning in for today’s Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
