Good morning, this is Luke Da Kook with your Folly Beach, Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday August 12th at 8:00 a.m.
The surf at the Pier is pretty weak ankle high and not looking hot at the moment.
Winds are light/moderate out of the SW 5-10kt and increasing to 15kt as the day prevails. A small chance of showers this afternoon as well.
We have a high tide at report time. low tide at 2:19 p.m. . High tide will follow at 8:45 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is 1 foot at 7 seconds from the ESE.
High pressure has control over our marine area and surf is down for the foreseeable future. Eastern Atlantic tropics are starting to show some life around the Cape Verde Islands off western Africa. Models showing some healthy lows heading west towards the Lesser Antilles by next week. The bad news is that models suggest these lows loosing organization once they arrive to the Caribbean islands. Something to watch and keep an eye hope they can survive.
It’s a humid 82* with clouds. Look for a humid day and a high of 88*. Mostly sunshine with some clouds today folks.
