Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, January 13 at 8:30 a.m.

Now is a good time to order a custom Stewart, as we’ll be placing an order this week for spring. Call us at 843-588-9175.

Surf at Folly this morning is waist to chest high and a bit soft at the morning’s high tide, but it is pretty clean. There is dense fog in the area, making surf zone hard to see.

Winds are light from the east at 3 knots.

Look for winds to from the south this afternoon at 5 to 10 knots and we see semi-clean surf today with some bump in it.

We have a high tide at 9:33 a.m., and a low tide at 3:52 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 ft at 10 seconds in south-east swell.

Plenty of south-east swell at the buoy today, and plenty of swell in the water here at Folly Beach today, with surf averaging waist to chest high pretty much all day. This trend continues into mid-week as high pressure set up well off the mid-Atlantic states (a Bermuda style high pressure) sends in south swell through Thursday, when we see another cold front pass, sending wind and swell from a more north-easterly direction.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak front will linger inland of the forecast area through the middle of the week. A cold front will cross the area on Thursday, followed by high pressure late week. Another cold front is expected to arrive over the weekend.”

It’s 65* this morning with a few showers in the area and lots of fog. Look for a high of 75* today and clouds, with a light shower here and there.

Water temperature is up to 60* with the warm flow over the weekend.

Sunrise is at 7:22 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:33 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
