Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, October 7 at 8:30 a.m.

We have lots of neoprene here to help keep you comfortable as conditions cool off at the beach. Come on in and check it out.

Surf at The Washout this morning is pushing waist to chest high. It’s closing out at the lower tide, and it’s choppy. It has some drift in it from north-to-south, but not too bad.  There is still plenty of swell in the water.

Winds are from east/north-east at 10 to 12 knots, and should continue about the same clip today, so expect semi-choppy to choppy surf all day.

We have a low tide at 9:36 a.m., and a high tide at 4:14 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period easterly ground swell, with a big south-east wind-swell – 6.9 ft. at 7 seconds.

Looks like we’ll have some surf today in the waist to chest high range with some bigger sets as the tide comes in. Looks for semi-choppy surf with some drift from north-to-south, down the beach. We expect continued north-east winds this week and east/north-east wind swell of variable quality throughout most of the work week, so there is still surf in the water, but the quality might not be perfect. Go surf. Surf looks to fall off Friday and into the upcoming weekend.

It’s 72* and raining this morning. Look for a high of 81* and sun behind clouds with a chance of showers on-and-off all day.

Water temperature is still 81*, but expect that to drop into the upper-70s in the next 10 days.

Sunrise is at 7:15 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:59 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
