Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee-to-thigh.

Dangers: Some jellyfish reported.

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, August 3rd at 8:30 a.m.

New Pyzel’s just arrived as well as Solid and some new Orion longboards.

Waves at Folly this morning are knee-to-thigh high and fairly weak. Larger set sneaks in at times.

Winds are west at 2 knots and surf zone is clean. Looks Ok for the logs and softies this morning.

Look for winds to swing southwest around 5 knots and then to the south early afternoon, when the wind will increase 10-15 knots late day. Surf zone should get choppy later today.

High tide is at 12:22 p.m., and low tide will be 6:33 p.m. Tide moves in until after dark.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

Waves this morning running in the thigh-high range with a bigger set here and there. It’s cleaner this morning and should be longboardable as the tide comes in this morning.  With high pressure set up over our marine area late in the workweek, your surf forecast is looking pretty dismal. Still keeping an eye on the tropics, but not showing any hope 10 days out.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail in the Atlantic this week with occasional surface troughing across the region.”

It’s 82* with clouds this morning. Look for a high of 89* with sun and passing clouds this afternoon. Not much rain chance again today.

Water Temperature is around 83*.

Sunrise is at 6:35 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:15 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
