Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 13 at 8:30 a.m.

The Carolina Surf Film Festival will take place at Mex 1 Cantina on Saturday night. Come check it out.

We have received tons of new boards over the past two days. Boards from Gary Wilson, Solid Surf and softboards and bodyboards from SofTech. We are finally stocked back up, so come check it out.

Surf at the Washout is knee-high. It’s closing out at the lower tide this morning. There could be a thigh set as the tide moves in. But, might want to pull out the fishing rods today.

Winds are north at 10 to 12 knots and surf zone is textured and has some minor cross-chop in it.

Look for moderate north-east winds all 5 to 10 today, going south-east late. We see a semi-clean surf-zone today.

Low tide was at 8:03 a.m., and high tide will be at 2:52 p.m. The next low tide will be at 9:02 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period south-east swell.

There might be a little something for the long-board glide as the tide comes in mid-morning. Small and semi-clean. We see overall small conditions this week with beautiful beach weather as high pressure sets up over our marine area for the work week. A cold front approaches during the weekend, and could push up some pre-frontal south swell Saturday morning. Probably nothing to write home about. We see more high pressure late Sunday and to start the work week, so surf is looking small for the next week. Go fishing, the bite is on. Tropics are quiet for now.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A large area of high pressure will linger through the work week. A cold front is expected to push across the region Saturday night, followed by another area of high pressure early next week.”

It’s 66* and sunny this morning. Beautiful fishing weather. Look for a high of 76* today and sun and some scattered clouds moving in later today. It’s a perfect fall beach day.

Water temperature is 77*.

Sunrise is at 7:22 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:49 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
