Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 8:30 a.m.
With the time change, we move on to our winter hours, which are from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Waves at the Washout are running knee to thigh high with an occasional waist high set. It is soft at the morning’s high tide, but there is a pretty little longboard wave out here this morning.
Winds are west at 5 knots, surf is clean.
We expect variable winds until mid-afternoon, when we see south-west winds at 5 to 10 knots.
We have a high at 9:52 a.m. low tide will be at 3:29 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 8 seconds in medium period east/south-east wind swell with a fairly high angle on it.
Look for surf to average thigh high with a waist high set this morning in clean, small medium period south-easterly swell. Bring the longboard, grovler or fish if you want to surf this morning. Surf should get better form when the tide backs out a bit late morning. Surf should drop off some as the tide rolls out late this afternoon. Surf looks to be small for most of the work week, picking up in north-east wind swell late Friday into the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Weak high pressure will remain over the region today. A cold front will push slowly south across the area Wednesday into Thursday. High pressure will then prevail this weekend before a weak cold front approaches the region early next week.”
It’s a perfect 66* and sunny this morning. Look for a nice beach day with a high of 77* and sun with passing clouds this afternoon.
Water temperature is around 69*.
Sunset is at 5:32 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:43 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
