Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, February 25 at 8:30 a.m.

Congrats to all the Icebox competitors and winners from yesterday’s contest!

Surf at the Washout is waist to stomach high and breaking close to shore as we move towards low tide.

Winds are SSW at 10 knots causing some texture in the surf today.

We have a low tide at 9:37 a.m., and the next high tide will be at 3:39 p.m.

Edisto buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 5.6 seconds in short-period ESE ground swell.

With a mixture of wind from the SSW and ground swell from the ESE, there is some size in the water, however the wind is impacting the texture this morning.  The pier may be breaking better this morning at a lower tide.  Winds are expected to increase throughout the day, eventually to 20 knots, so it’s likely that the surf will be blown out over the course of the day. A cold front moves in tomorrow from the West, which could bring in some clean waves tomorrow morning.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will weaken through tonight. A cold front will slowly approach from the west on Monday, moving through the region by Monday night. High pressure is forecasted to pass to the north Tuesday, followed by a warm front moving northward through our area Wednesday. Another cold front is expected to cross Thursday, followed by high pressure.”

It is 71* with sun and breeze this morning. We expect a high of 79* and partly cloudy skies.

Water temperature is right around 62*.

Sunset is at 6:13 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:54 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
