Surf at the Washout is solid stomach to chest high this morning with a frequent shoulder high set.

Winds are WSW at 15 knots, and surf is fairly bumpy and sideshore this morning, but with some good looking shoulders and steep drops.

We have a high tide at 9:17 a.m., and a low tide will be at 3:20 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:49 p.m. The Edisto buoy is reading 9.2 ft. at 8 seconds in a S swell with WSW winds.  Small craft advisory still in affect until later this afternoon as this front continues to blow by. We see mostly choppy closeouts this morning, with some fun chilly waves to be had if you’re in the mood. Winds increase up to 25 knots throughout the course of the day from the SW keeping conditions choppy and sideshore. Expect surf to drop as the day passes, though windswell conditions might hold up some rideable chop through the afternoon. There might be some leftovers on the high tide Sunday morning. We enter the next work week with long-boardable trade wind swell in the thigh high range.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak surface trough will prevail to the west through tonight. High pressure is forecasted to dominate the weather Sunday through Wednesday or Thursday. The next cold front may approach late next week.”

It’s 56* and mostly sunny at the beach this morning.  Look for a high of 67* with mostly sunny skies today.

Water temperature is around 70*.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
