Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 2 at 8:30 a.m.

All of our fall merchandise is on the floor. Come check out what’s new for cooler weather, if it every gets below 90* again.

Surf at The Washout this morning is waist to chest high with a  bigger set. Very fun conditions at Folly this morning.

Winds are from the north at 5 knots, and surf is super clean. Surf should get better form as the tide backs out.

Look for moderate east winds today around 5 to 10 knots, adding bump to the surf zone.

We have a high tide at 11:31 a.m., and a low tide will be at 5:39 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4 ft at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-east ground swell from distant hurricane Lorenzo.

We should see continued Hurricane Lorenzo swell in the waist to stomach high range with a bigger set with easterly winds adding bump to the ground swell.   Lorenzo swell should peak this morning, but look for less wind today and Thursday, with a fading but ridable swell in the water. Friday, we see strong cold front approach and strong north/north-east wind-swell build for Saturday and into the weekend, but most of it looks to pass our shores and head to Florida. So, surf this week if you can.

We have nice weather this morning. It’s 79* and sunny. Look for a hot day with a high of 89* and partly cloudy skies today.

Water temperature is 82*.

Sunrise is at 7:13 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:03 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
