Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, Oct. 21 at 8 a.m.
We will have the full line of Billabong and O’Neill jackets, full-suits, and spring suits on the floor. Get ready for some cooler weather.
Surf at the Washout this morning is knee to thigh high with a waist set. It could push a stomach set as the tide comes in mid-morning. It is small, but rideable on the high volume boards.
We have north/north-east winds at 5 knots, and surf is semi-clean.
Look for winds to rotate more easterly at 10 knots this afternoon. We see bumpy, semi-choppy surf later today.
We came off a low tide at sun-rise. We have a high tide at 2 p.m, and a low tide will be at 8:34 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3. Ft. at 7 sec. in a medium period south swell, pushing against north wind swell – 1.3 ft. at 4 seconds.
Looks like there could be some small surf today for the high volume board. It’s certainly not flat, but should fade out some on the out-going tide this afternoon. Short-period south wind swell in the forecast for Tuesday into the thigh-to-waist high range as a front moves through the area. We expect smaller surf for mid-week. We see another frontal boundary and storm system for Saturday. We’ll see if this system has any effect on our waves.
It’s 66* and sunny. Look for a high of 76* and mostly sun today. It’s a prefect beach day.
Water temperature has dropped to 74*.
Sunrise is at 7:28 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:39 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure over the region will begin to weaken today before a frontal system moves through tonight and Tuesday. High pressure will rebuild late Tuesday through Thursday before another storm system potentially moves in Friday or Saturday.”
