Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, Nov. 14 at 8:30 a.m.

Colder weather swell is coming this weekend, and we have a great selection of booties, hoods and gloves out on the floor, so come get your cold-water gear while the selection is still good.

Surf at Folly this morning is thigh high with waist high sets in a high-angled north-east wind swell. It’s breaking right on the beach at high tide.

Winds are north at 15 to 20 knots. There is of current, north-to-south down the beach, but surf zone is bumpy, but semi-clean faces.

Look for north winds at 15 knots today, with occasional gusts to 20. We will see side-shore semi-clean surf today with current down the beach.

We have a high tide at 8:30 a.m., and a low tide at 2:53 p.m. The next high tide is at 8:52 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 6.6 ft. at 7 seconds in a north-east wind swell.

We expect strong north winds today and continued, high angled north-east wind swell. Most of this swell will again pass our shores and head south of our waters, with north-east wind swell falling off, but continuing for Friday. For the weekend, things get interesting as a low-pressure system looks to develop just north of our coast-line Saturday and Sunday. We could see ground-swell this weekend with strong north winds keeping bigger surf side-shore and drifty. Better have some neoprene, as it will be a cold, raw and rainy swell event Saturday, with sun coming out and cool temperatures on Sunday. Swell falls off to start the work week.

It is cold at the beach. It’s 45* with a wind chill of 40* and cloudy.  Look for a high of only 60* today with clouds and rain starting mid-afternoon.

Water temperature is dropping rapidly. It’s now 62*.

Sunrise is at 6:49 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:18 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
