Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, Dec 4 at 8:30 a.m.
An Ocean Surf Shop gift card is a great Christmas gift for the surfer in your life. We can even take a credit card over the phone and mail the gift card for you, so come on by or give us a call at (843)588-9175.
Surf at Folly this morning is flat. Maybe knee high.
Winds are north-westerly at 10 to 15 knots, and surf zone is clean with texture.
Look for winds from the west today at 15 to 20 knots, and we see a clean – but flat – surf zone today.
High tide will be at 1:43 p.m. today. Low tide will be at 7:52 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 ft at 10 seconds in a long period ground swell with a south-west wind swell 5.2 ft. at 5 seconds.
Unfortunately, surf looks small for the work week. Our next chance for swell looks like it will take place this weekend as another storm system effects our marine area, brining short-period north-east wind waves building late Saturday, with swell once again rotating more on shore for some better conditions late day Sunday into the early part of next week as high pressure sets up off the Mid-Atlantic coast and a warm front lifts north into our marine area. There will likely be some easterly wind on it, but we’ll keep an eye on that forecast for you.
It’s a chilly 45* today with sun. Expect a high of 61* with sun.
Water temperature is now 58*
Sunrise is at 7:05 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:12 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Friday. A cold front will pass through Friday night, followed by strong high pressure that builds inland over the weekend. A warm front is expected to lift north of the region Monday, with a cold front to sweep through late Tuesday. High pressure will return next Wednesday.”
