Wave Forecast: Ankle-to-knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, January 2, 2020. Happy New Year to everyone.

All of our board-shorts and walk-shorts are marked off 50%. Come check it out while the selection is still good.

Surf at Folly this morning is ankle-to-knee high.

Winds are light and variable, and surf zone is clean. Look for light winds out of the south today at 5 knots. We don’t expect much surf today.

We have a high tide at 12:51 p.m., and a low tide at 6:58 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1 ft. at 4 seconds in a small south-west wind swell.

There is not much swell to be found today. Another cold front approaches and brings another south west wind-swell building Friday afternoon into Saturday morning, when we see bigger, choppy south-west wind swell and south-west winds keeping things choppy. Strong westerly winds overnight on Saturday should blow the surf down for Sunday, but keep an eye on the timing of the cold front on Saturday afternoon to see if there could be a clean-up before the strong westerly winds Saturday night.

It’s cloudy and 51* this morning. Look for a high of 64* with sun and clouds mixed.

Water temperature is 57*

Sunrise is at 7:22 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:24 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
