Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, January 29 at 8:30 a.m.

A new shipment of Album surfboards has arrived, as well as some beautiful Epoxy Rusty 419 fish shapes. Come pick up a new stick and get ready for spring.

Looks like they are doing some paving in The Washout area, so expect delays if you head up that way. Parking is a problem up there right now as they work.

Surf at Folly this is flat to knee high.

Winds are light from the north-east, and surf zone is clean.

Look for easterly winds at 10 knots today, and we see some bump in the surf zone, with small waves.

High tide will be at 10:40 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:45 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 7 seconds in an east/north-east swell.

Surf is looking small today as high pressure sets up over our marine area. After a storm system passage on Wednesday, we see high angled north-east wind swell fill in again, with choppy conditions and current running north-to-south, down the beach. Size should increase some, but don’t look for great wave quality Thursday and Friday. Saturday might produce some waves. A low looks to move right over our marine area and quickly move northward along the east coast. Saturday night, a strong frontal boundary moves in after the low passes our waters with strong offshore winds blowing the surf down quickly. Look for smaller, colder waves Sunday morning. It’s a-ways’ out and models can change we will keep you updated here at Ocean as always.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A storm system will impact the area late tonight into early Thursday, followed by another storm system Friday into early Saturday. High pressure is expected early next week.”

It’s 45* this morning with clear skies. It’s a nice morning at the beach. Look for a high of 59* with rain starting later this afternoon

Water temperature has dropped back down to 54*. You’ll need at least a 4/3, and booties.

Sunrise is at 7:17 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:47 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
