Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, March 2, at 8:30 a.m.
We have new men’s and women’s spring merchandise arriving daily, so come see what’s new for spring.
Surf at Folly this morning is flat.
Winds are light from the south-east and surf is clean.
Look for winds to pick up slightly out of the south at 10 knots adding bump to small surf.
We are coming off a high tide, and high tide will be at 12:50 p.m. the next low tide is right around 7 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1 ft at 8 seconds in and easterly swell, with a small south/south west wind swell 1.6 ft at 4 seconds.
Looking into the work week we an approaching frontal boundary move into our area Tuesday afternoon. Moderate onshore flow from the SSW will generate swell into the waist high (plus) range and continue its building trend into late Wednesday. The front looks to finally move out of the area Thursday when surf falls off some, before picking up again on Friday as a low pressure system moves off-shore of our marine area. Pushing up another quick shot of swell.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will extend cross the region today. A front will settle into the area Tuesday night into Thursday, followed by low pressure impacting portions of the region. The low will move offshore Friday, then high pressure will persist over the weekend.”
It’s a pleasant 53* with sun this morning and some clouds. Look for a partly cloudy day, with nice beach weather, and a high of 70*.
Water temperature is around 55*.
Sunrise is at 6:44 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:18 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
