Waves at Folly this morning are in the wiast-to-stomach high range, with a chest high set. The form is not perfect, but it shows potential
Winds are east at 10 knots, and surf is semi-choppy. Look for south-east winds at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon.
We see winds increasing from the south this afternoon at 15 to 20 knots, and this should build choppy south wind-swell for today and Saturday.
Low tide will be at 9:20 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:32 p.m. The next low tide at 9:41 pm.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 7 seconds in a south-easterly ground swell. So there is plenty of swell at the bouy, and there should be waves all day.
We have a low pressure system with possible tropical development forming near the north-western Bahamas over the next few days. This should keep some surf in the forecast for the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail today. A storm system is expected to develop east of Florida tonight, then move north northeast through early next week while remaining offshore. A separate low pressure system may affect the southeast United States Monday and Tuesday.”
It’s 74 today with sun this morning. Look for a high of 77 with sun and some clouds today.
Water temperature is around 72*.
Sunrise is at 6:19 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:12 p.m.
