Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, June 13 at 8:30 a.m.
New men’s Vissla Boardshorts and apparel has arrived at the shop, as well as their line of short-sleeve button-downs. We’ve also got new Freestyle watches in the shop. Come see what’s new.
Waves at Folly this morning are knee high maybe a thigh high set. Looks very weak overall.
Winds are north-north/east around 5-10mph putting a little texture to the surf.
Winds should continue today about 10-15 mph and should rotate more NE.
We are coming off a low tide at 8:33 a.m. We see a high tide at 2:58 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:54 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 ft. at 7 seconds in a short-period, south/south-east swell.
Its looking pretty weak this Saturday morning only showing around knee high. Unfortunately, it’s looking like small, long-board style waves with a light easterly flow for most of the weekend, with a stationary front bringing some unsettled weather. Probably time to break out the long-board for typical summer-time conditions.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “week, bringing unsettled weather. The unsettled weather will continue as an upper level disturbance moves over the Southeast during the first half of next week.”
It’s cooled off a bit only 74 degrees at report time with mostly cloudy skies. Look for a high of 76 with a chance of thunderstorms developing in the afternoon hours.
Water temperature is up to 82*.
Sunrise is at 6:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
