Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, July 25 at 8:30 a.m.

New parking restrictions in place on Folly Beach. Please see the City’s Web site for more information.

Mandatory Mask Ordinance enacted by Folly Beach City Council in late June.

Surf at Folly this morning showing knee-to-thigh high. There is a waist set. It’s weak, and best for the long-board this morning, but it looks kind of fun for some summer style surf, early.

Winds are light and variable this morning making for clean conditions early.

Winds will increase from the south-east at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon. Creating surface chop on the water.

We just came off a low tide at 6:05 a.m. High tide will follow at 12:31 p.m Another low tide will conclude the day at 6:30 p.m

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period south-east swell with a small, short period south-east wind swell component.

Surf is currently running knee-thigh high is small summer trade swell. Its enough for the high volume sticks. High pressure pushes more easterly today and we can see a little more life thigh-waist high sets in stronger SE trade swell by Sunday and into the beginning of the work week. Should be able to get wet the next couple days. Tropics are starting to awaken with Hannah pushing into the western gulf today. Gonzalo also is spinning down in the eastern Caribbean islands. As of now neither are wave producers for us but keep your eyes on the tropics regardless this time of year.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure and an inland trough of low pressure will persist though next week.”

It’s 85* and sunny at the beach this morning. Look for a hot, sunny day with a high of 90* at the beach and high humidity.

Water temperature is up to 87*.

Sunrise is at 6:27 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:23 p.m.
