Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, October 5 at 8:30 a.m.

You can now park in right-of-way on the side streets at Folly Monday through Thursday. Keep in mind parking restrictions still apply Friday through Sunday. Check the City of Folly Beach’s Web site for more information.

We still have a mandatory mask ordinance in effect for Folly Beach.

We just received another shipment of Gary Wilson surf-boards. Come check out the new stock.

Surf at Folly is knee-high with a thigh set. It is a bit soft.  Bring a high-volume board if you want to get wet.

Winds are north at 15 knots, and the surf-zone is side-shore and drifty and semi-clean.

Look for winds to increase north-east today at 15 knots, adding some surface chop and look for drift down-the-beach all day.

High tide is at 10:30 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:48 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is down.

A few small, soft waves for the high-volume board with semi-clean, drifty conditions at high-tide this morning. This should fall out on the lower tide this afternoon. North-east winds increase Tuesday as a costal trough moves up the coast. We see slightly bigger, choppier, high-angled north-east wind swell fill-in Tuesday. Expect drifty wind swell conditions with moderately strong north-east winds for the period. Surf holds about the same into mid-week, falling off late week. We see increasing easterly wind swell for the weekend as the remnants of Gulf low pressure moves into our marine area for the weekend.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will persist inland through Thursday. Meanwhile, a coastal trough will move up the coast Tuesday and Tuesday night. Gulf low pressure could bring increasing moisture and unsettled weather to the area Friday through Sunday.”

It’s 64* little chilly this morning with cloudy skies. Look for mostly cloudy skies throughout the day. We’ll see a high of only 69*.

Water temperature is 73*.

Sunrise is at 7:16 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:58 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
