Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, Nov.22 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a shipment of Billabong kid’s full-suits. Come get ‘em while the getting is good.
Surf at Folly is thigh-to-waist high this morning.
It is clean. and it is also closing out at the morning’s low tide. It should get better as the tide comes in later this morning.
Winds are north-west at 10 knots.
Look for winds to increase off-shore, north-west, at 15 knots later this morning, going north at 15 to 20 this afternoon. Surf should become side-shore and drifty later today as the off-shore winds beat down the swell.
We have a low tide as of report time, and high tide will be at 2:47 p.m. The next low tide at 8:54 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 3.9 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium period south-east swell.
Surf looks ok for the incoming tide on a high volume board, but it will get beat down later today with strong north winds in the forecast. Your holiday work week starts out with a high-angled north-east wind swell passing our beaches as high pressure sets up north-east wind swell. We should see winds and swell come more on-shore Wednesday, as wind rotate more on-shore from the south as a cold front moves into the area mid-week. Surf looks to fall off for the weekend, but there should be rideable waves – off and on – for the holiday work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Wednesday. A cold front will stall over the area Thursday. Low pressure will move through Sunday and Monday.”
It’s 62* and sunny at the beach this morning. Expect a high of 67* and sun this afternoon. It should be a nice beach day.
Water temperature is around 67*.
Sunrise is at 6:57 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
