Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, Nov.25 at 8:30 a.m.
We will be open until 4 p.m. today so our staff can go enjoy some turkey and stuffing. We’ll be closed on Thanksgiving then open for normal operations on Friday. We are most Thankful for YOU, supporting our small business. Thank you for all you do to help Ocean Surf Shop keep our small business running.
Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set this morning, but should build some as the tide comes in late morning.
Winds are east/south-east at 8 knots, and surf is bumpy, but it’s fairly clean.
Look for winds to rotate southerly at 10 knots this afternoon. And we see bumpy, semi-choppy surf today.
We have a low tide at 10:14 a.m., and a high tide at 4:24 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 2.8 feet at 9 seconds in a building south-east swell.
Surf should be on the increase today and into Thanksgiving Day. We see winds and swell come more onshore today, as wind rotate and increase from the south as a cold front moves into the area and stalls for Thanksgiving Day. Look for moderate south-westerly winds adding some bump and chop. Surf looks to fall off for the weekend, before a strong cold front approaches on Sunday night and increases choppy south-west wind swell to start the first week of December.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will move offshore today, then a cold front will stall over the area Thursday through Saturday. Low pressure will move through on Sunday, followed by a strong cold front Monday. Cold high pressure will build over the area Tuesday and Wednesday.”
It’s 65* and cloudy at the beach this morning. Expect a high of 72* and clouds this afternoon, with a 40% chance of a shower.
Water temperature is around 64*.
Sunrise is at 6:59 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:12 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
