Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, December 8 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a shipment of the new John John Florence models in the Pyzel softboard series. Come check them out.
Surf at Folly is flat and weak this morning.
Winds are north at 10 knots, and surf is side-shore but pretty clean.
Look for north-west winds at 10 knots this afternoon, and we see a clean surf-zone all day.
We are coming off a low tide, and high tide will be at 1:35 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:01 p.m.
Virtual buoy data is showing 2.7 ft. at 5 seconds in a north/north-east wind swell.
Unfortunately, we don’t expect too much surf over the next several days as we see off-shore flow in the forecast much of the work-week. The weather is very nice, though. We should see another quick shot of south wind swell as a cold front passes late next weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will build across the area through late week. A cold front is expected to cross the region Sunday, followed by more high pressure and cooler conditions through early next week.”
It’s sunny and 38* this morning. Expect lots of sunshine today and a high of 50*.
Water temperature has dropped to 59*.
Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
