Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, January 19 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is ankle high and glassy this morning.

Winds are west-north-west this morning at 5 knots, and surf zone is mostly offshore. Surf is weak and clean.

Look for winds to remain low out of the west today, shifting to north-west this afternoon. Surf will likely remain small and glassy throughout the day.

We have a high tide at 12:24 p.m., and a low tide at 6:26 p.m.

Virtual buoy data is reading a very small 2.9 ft. at 4 seconds in a short-period west/south-westerly wind-swell.

Surf stays small today and into the first half of our work week, with off-shore winds and no real swell-makers in the Atlantic. Another cold front looks to move though during the latter part of the work week, Friday-Sunday and might push up another small, pre-frontal, choppy north-east wind-swell into Friday morning. Look forward to moderate winds ranging 10-15 knots. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail before a weak cold front passes through the region on Friday, followed by high pressure for the weekend. A stronger cold front is expected to effect the area early next week.”

It is 40* with sunny skies this morning. Look for sun today and a high of 58*.

Water temperature is down to 52*.

Sunrise is at 7:21 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:41 p.m.
