Very clean. Looks fun.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Thigh-to-waist. Stomach set.
Traffic: Some.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: Work.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, March 4 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout is thigh high with a waist to stomach high set. It looks fun, especially for the longboard.

Winds are north-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean.

Look for north winds at 5 to 10 knots today, switching west later. Surf zone stays clean for today.

We have a high tide at 11:35 a.m., and a low tide at 5:45 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 3.7 ft at 7 seconds in a medium period easterly swell.

There’s a few leftovers this morning for the high-volume board. After a fun swell yesterday, high pressure sets up over our marine area through the weekend, and we see high angled swell pass by our marine area for the period. So surf is looking pretty small for the next several days. We could see high pressure move off the mid-Atlantic coast next week, pushing up trade-wind swell for the middle of next week, but we’ll keep you posted.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will generally prevail into next week, aside from a low pressure system to the south brushing the area late this week.”

It is 50* with bright sun this morning. Look for a high of 67* and perfect, sunny beach weather today.

Water temperature is 56*.

Sunrise is at 6:42 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:19 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
