Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, April 29 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received new boards from our buddy Gary Wilson, come by and check those out while the selection is still solid. Summer is on the way.
Surf at The Washout this morning is around knee high.
Winds are south-west at 10 to 15 knots, and surf is weak and choppy. Looks pretty poor – wave-wise – today.
Look for winds to increase south-west at 15 to 20 this afternoon ahead of a cold front that’s scheduled to pass over our marine area for Friday. Surf will be choppy and drifty this afternoon, but still not much size.
We have a high tide at 10:19 a.m., and a low tide will be at 4:21 p.m. The next high tide is at 10:56 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 2.1 ft at 4 seconds in a weak, shourt-period south/south-east swell.
Surf looks pretty small again today. Just some weak south-west wind-chop developing this afternoon. This south-west wind swell will build overnight. Choppy, south-west wind waves will increase some for Friday. Winds switch north-east for Saturday, and high-angled north-east wind waves will roll past our beaches Saturday. Waves go flat for Sunday and into early in the work week.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through tonight. A dry cold front will move through on Friday, followed by high pressure for the weekend. The weather pattern may become unsettled for our area early to mid-next week.”
It’s a beautiful, sunny 72* this morning. Look for a high of 76* and increasing cloudiness late in the day.
Water temperature is around 70*.
Sunrise is at 6:32 a.m. and sunset will be at 8 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
