Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, June 15 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is thigh-to-waist high. Maybe slightly bigger. It doesn’t have the best form, but it’s rideable.
Winds are north-east at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is semi-choppy. Perhaps it will improve some on the incoming tide.
Look for winds to rotate easterly this afternoon at 10 knots, making for choppier, small surf.
Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 12:50 p.m. The next low tide will be at 6:50 p.m.
We have some small, rideable surf this morning after a frontal passage last night. This will drop out on the low tide tonight, with choppy conditions. Surf looks small for the remainder of the work week, into Saturday. There is the possibility of a tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico that could affect our surf Monday and Tuesday in a southerly wind-chop swell. We’ll keep you posted.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “A stationary front will remain just offshore today, then give way to a cold front tonight. Then, high pressure will build across the Southeast U.S late week. Unsettled weather is expected early next week.”
It’s 76* and sunny at the beach. It’s perfect out here this morning. Look for a high of 82* mostly sunny skies and a20% chance of a shower this afternoon.
Water temperature is around 80*.
Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:29 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
