Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, June 29 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout this morning is waist-to-stomach high and semi-choppy. There is a bigger set, occasionally. It’s closing out at the morning’s low tide, but should get better form as the tide comes in.

Winds are east around 5 to 8 knots, and surf zone has some bump in it, but overall it looks pretty fun for a summer session.

Look for winds from the south-east this afternoon at 10 to 15, and we see choppy surf later today as swell begins to fall off at low tide later today.

Tide is coming in. We have a high tide at 12:32 p.m., and low tide will be at 6:30 p.m.

There are some waves still here at the beach this morning. Nothing too big, but fun enough for a summer session. Tropical Storm Danny moved inland of our waters overnight, and we see fading south-east wind swell after the high tide this afternoon with overall choppy conditions. We see long-board style trade wind swell as Atlantic high pressure dominates our weather. Waves pick up some in a choppy, drfity south-west wind swell late week as a front advances into our marine area and stalls inland.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will prevail before a cold front approaches the region late week and then likely stalls inland through early next week.”

It’s sunny and 79* at the beach. Expect a humid day with a high of 83* and a 30%

Water temperature is around 82*.

Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
