Glassy

Time of Report: 8:00 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Waist-Chest
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty
Dangers: Low tide

Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, August 4 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout this morning is waist-to-chest high. Jump on the wave before the tide drains out too much. Looks like a lot of fun with some potential for quick, hollow lines. It might be your morning to get a cover-up, you never know!

Winds are north-north-west at 8 knots, and surf zone is clean. The winds are showing any added texture to the wave surface, as conditions are clean and slow-rolling.

Look for winds to switch north at around 8-10 knots this afternoon, and surf should pick up later today, with potential for added chop.

We have a low tide at 11:23 a.m., and a high tide at 5:55 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 3.3 ft at 8.3 seconds in a medium period south/south-east ground swell.

Waves are looking fun and glassy this morning before the tide drop. Plenty of people in the lineup getting a quick tube or hack off the top. The set waves rolling in are pushing in the chest territory, but waves are averaging in the waist high range or less. The afternoon should maintain clean conditions, hopefully producing some little gems into the late high tide. It looks as though we have a solid run of waves the next couple of days, so keep you eye on the cam and make the most of this swell!

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A stalled front will linger over or near the area through the week. More typical summertime weather should then return early next week.

We have clouds this morning and a light drizzle. It’s 72*. Look for possible light rain with a high of 81* this afternoon, but it’ll likely stay dry all day.

Water temperature is around 85*.

Sunrise is at 6:37 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:15 p.m.
