Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, November 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout this morning is knee high and building in a high angled, drifty, weak north-east wind wave.
Winds are strong from the north at 15 to 20 knots with a higher gust.
This wind pattern should continue all day, rotating more north-east at 15 to 20.
Tide is going out, and low tide will be at 1:14 p.m. The next high tide will be at 7:14 pm.
The Edisto buoy is reading 6 feet at 6 seconds in a short-period, north/north-east wind swell.
Welcome to our first significant north/north-east blow of the season. Surf should build from the north east to end the work week, and pick up significantly Saturday into Sunday in a high angled, drifty, north-east wind swell. Puerto Rico might be the call if you’ve got the means. Put you paddle-arms on for the Folly Beach session, or park one car at the north-end of the island and one car at the pier, because it’ll be drifty until Monday. You’ll need some neoprene, too. A spring suit will likely be ok.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A cold front will stall south of the region and persist through the week. A coastal low could form along the stalled front late week, bringing unsettled weather to the region through the weekend.”
It’s 53* and mostly cloudy this morning. Look for mostly cloudy skies and a high of only 62* today.
Water temperature is going down. It’s now 70*. It’ll drop to the mid-60s by early next week.
Sunrise is at 7:39 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:27 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
