Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, January 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Go Dawgs. Haha.
We have a full run of men’s 3/2 Billabong Wetsuits and Billabong 4/3 women’s suits on the racks. Just got here. Come check them out if you want to get some cold water surf this winter.
Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-to-thigh high. Maybe a little bit bigger. It’s closing out early at the low tide. It could get better form as the tide comes in some at the Washout, but it’s going to get beat down by the strong north winds.
Winds are north/north-west at 15 knots, and surf zone is clean and textured as the tide comes in this morning.
Look for winds to rotate more north and pick up significantly this afternoon at 20 to 25 knots late morning as this
We just had a low tide at 8 a.m. We have a high tide at 2:07 p.m., and a low tide at 8:11 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 ft at 5 seconds in a dying, short-period south-west wind swell.
We see fading south wind-swell leftovers as the tides comes in this morning. Winds go north this late morning, and we see rapidly dropping south wind-swell. Early this morning in the incoming might be the time to go for best conditions. Tuesday through mid-week looks like north swell passing out beaches with small waves and nice weather. We should see another quick shot of south wind-swell late in the week as another cold front approaches our marine area.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will move offshore on Monday. Cold high pressure will prevail most of this week. Another cold front may approach the area late this week or early.”
It’s cold, damp and cloudy this morning. It’s 54*. Look for temps to stay about the same with mostly cloudy skies and the sun trying to peek out later today.
Water Temperature is hovering around 57* after this little cold snap.
Sunrise is at 7:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:32 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
