Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for your Sunday, Feb. 20 at 8:30 a.m.

We are fully stocked with new Futures fins. Also, we’ll be having a sale on all Odysea and Beater Catch Surf Monday and Tuesday of this week. We will feature 30% off all Catch Surf surfboards. We have a huge selection, so come check it out and save some money Monday and Tuesday.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set in a fresh, high angled north-east wind swell. It is soft at the morning’s high tide, but rideable on a longboard.

Winds are north at 10 to 12 knots. It’s side-shore, and semi-choppy with a drift north-to-south, down the beach.

Look for increasing eastly winds at 20 knots this morning, falling off to 15 knots this afternoon. Surf should get choppy later today.

High tide will be at 9:58 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:13p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 9 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell with a short period north-east wind swell reading 5.6 at 6 seconds.

We see choppy high-angled easterly wind swell fill in today with some drift and chop as easterly winds pick up late morning. The good news is that high pressure sets up to our north-east off the mid-Atlantic states and we should see some small, lazy trade wind swell with slightly cleaner conditions beginning Monday afternoon and building through Wednesday. Looks like some swell in the forecast for late week, too. Nothing too big, but something to ride and the weather should be nice, too.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will remain the primary weather feature until late week. A cold front is expected to cross the region late week, followed by much cooler high pressure by next weekend.”

It’s a nice morning. It’s cool. 48* with bright sun. Look for a high of 58* with sun today.

Water Temperature is around 55*.

Sunrise is at 6:57 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:09 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
