Ocean Surf Shop Surf Report 02/26/2022

semi-choppy

Time of Report: 9:00 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee high
Traffic: lots
Parking: Limited, but plenty at the washout
Dangers: sea & sand festival

Good morning, this is Scott with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, February 26 at 8:30 a.m.

Center Street is closed for the sea & sand festival today.

Surf at The Washout this morning is thigh high on the sets at low tide. A big board should provide a few rides, especially at the high tide, but it looks like the winds might switch side shore later in the day.

Winds are north-west at 5 knots, and surf is semi-clean.

Look for winds to switch north-east and to pick up to around 15 knots.

We have a low tide at 10:11 a.m.., and high tide will be at 4:13p.m. The next low tide is at 10:20 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east swell mixed with a small, short-period south wind swell.

Not much will be going on the next few days besides very minor wind swell. If you plan on surfing the next week, bring the biggest board you have. It looks like we have a possibility for a nice chest-head high swell in latter part of the first week in March.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will build into the region today. Another cold front will move through the forecast area late in the weekend, followed by a return to high pressure early next week.”

It’s 60* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 65* and sun with some clouds passing this afternoon.

Water Temperature is up to around 59*.

Sunrise is at 6:51 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:14 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
