Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, March 13 at 8:30 a.m.
We have new spring and summer apparel for men and women arriving daily. Come see what’s new at Ocean.
Surf at The Washout this morning is ankle to knee high and clean. If you feel like getting wet on this chilly morning bring a log and all the wetsuit gear.
Winds are out of the north at 10 knots.
Winds come around to the southeast at 5 knots by early afternoon.
Low tide is at 11:19 a.m., and high tide will be at 4:56 p.m. The next low tide is at 11:19 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 feet at 9 seconds in a short period south-east wind swell.
Today is pretty much flat and cold, but another storm system will kick up more south wind swell Tuesday into Wednesday of next week, so you won’t have to wait long for some surf this week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail through early week. Low pressure will slowly advance through the region around mid-week. High pressure will then prevail until a cold front crosses the area this weekend.”
It’s 34* and with breezy winds out here at the beach. Look for the sun to be out all day and the high temperature 49* this afternoon.
Water Temperature is up to around 64*. It’ll drop after this weekend’s cold snap, but is generally on the way up.
Sunrise is at 7:26 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:32 p.m. Enjoy the extra hour of sunlight.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
