Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, June 29 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the washout are knee high and weak. Surf zone is clean. Better morning for the flatwater SUP paddle.
Winds are north/north-east at 7 knots. It’s glassy at the moment
We are expecting winds to be variable until afternoon, when winds come east/south-east at 10 knots with showers and storms expected at the beach.
High tide was 8:49 a.m. We have a low tide at 2:36 p.m. Next high tide will be at 9:06 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0 feet at 8.3 seconds in a medium period easterly swell, so not much swell and small surf for today.
We have easterly winds throughout the afternoon, and small surf on tap. Not much generating swell into next week so we are expecting minimal to small surf throughout the week. Looking like a lazy south trade wind swell might fill in this weekend and increase into early next week. That’s the best we’ve got for now.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A stationary front over the area will dissipate by Thursday. A surface trough will move in from the southeast late this week before Atlantic high pressure expands westward through early next week.”
It’s 77* and cloudy at the beach. We do expect some storm and showers late morning with a high of 82* at the beach today.
Water Temperature is around 84*.
Sunrise is at 6:14 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
