Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, July 26 at 8:30 a.m.

The 20th Annual Wahine Classic takes place this weekend at The Washout. Come support these ladies as compete and shred it up. We’ll see you there.

Waves at The Washout are thigh-to-waist high. Looks like it’s trying to build in a choppy south swell, but will probably pick up mid-afternoon when the tide turns.

Winds are south/ south-west at 12 to 15 knots, and surf zone is choppy and slightly drifty.

Look for south winds this afternoon increasing at 15 to 20 knots, and surf zone stays choppy today.

We are coming off an early high tide and low tide will be at 12:48 p.m. We have another high tide at 7:21 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 7 seconds in a combination medium period south-east swell and a short-period south-east wind swell.

Waves may get a little choppy this afternoon with the south winds, but swell has picked up at the buoy, and there is something to ride, it’s just not clean. It should build on the incoming tide later today in choppy conditions. High pressure sets up off the Mid-Atlantic today and into mid-week, so expect small trade-wind swell to pick up and continue Wednesday. South-west wind swell will continue on-and-off through late week. Likely rideable, but not much to look forward to. South-west wind swell looks to continue for the Wahine Classic this weekend.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail into the weekend.”

It’s 84* with bright sun this morning. We’ll have a high of 87* today and partly cloudy for the afternoon.

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:29 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:21 p.m.
